about

A triumphant celebration of the wins we've had so far in movements for justice.

lyrics

The white man is deteriorating
From the inside
He looks to either side
Begging for help as his power subsides

He looks to his sister
Even though he spent years undermining her and her needs
But she has - mostly - been more humane than he
And perhaps feels pity or perhaps is afraid of the monster that he can be

He looks to his cousins
Who he spat on and mocked
Who he attacked and robbed
Pretending their beautiful melanin could be an excuse for greed and purposeless creed

You see, he -
is desperately searching for an identity to hold pride in
Coz now that we’re aligning against colonising
We’ve asked him to step back:
to re learn and support
To actively redistribute portions of his privilege
And this he finds difficult to coordinate with his current comforts.

And so -
Whilst he begs for redemption
He refuses to right his own wrongs
Expecting those he hurt to do the work for him

He clings to what power he has left
But is watching it crumble beneath his fingertips

For our pride is stronger than his violence
And our love more powerful than piousness
Our resilience was learnt at the highest cost
So our wisdom, once earnt cannot be lost.

And as we rise we watch him fall
As we organise, himself he humbles
As we become tactical, his system breaks apart
For action with thought and love, in our numbers ain't a farce.

You see the white man is deteriorating
From the inside
He looks from side to side
Begging for help as his power subsides.

He is inside every one of us
Say watch your step
Watch yourself
It’s not too late
To come and join us
So come and join us

See the white man is deteriorating
From the inside
He looks from side to side
Begging for help as his power subsides.
